Who are they?

One of the services offered by Entrepid Communications Ltd is the administration surrounding the recycling of Single Use Cameras on behalf of several prestigious clients including Kodak.

What they wanted

To fulfil the stringent demands that the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive places on those clients, Entrepid had designed a complex database application to allow them to attend the needs of their clients.

Due to internal restructuring, they sought a well established FoxPro development company to take over the redevelopment and support of their bespoke applications.

The brief was simple, take all of the individual FoxPro applications and consolidate them into a single application. The resulting application must be multi-user, simple to use and intuitive for those members of staff who have had little exposure to database applications.

How we did it

Hugh began by meeting with the people at Entrepid who actually used the systems and finding out as much as he could about the processes and procedures they adhered to. He would use this information to highlight deficiencies in their workflow and as a guide to make sure that the new consolidated system could be immplemented without mass confusion or retraining

Since completion, Entrepid have been able to focus more on their clients than collating large volumes of data collected from around the world. Incoming data files are quickly validated, with areas of concern highlighted to the user before the file is accepted. Exception reports are now produced at the touch of a button and reports are produced in several different languages dependent on the destination.
